Jack's Back Pack

Hello everyone,

Here are some concepts for Jack's backpack. During development we wanted Jack to carry a backpack for his items. Though the idea of an inventory system has long been scrapped, it is still a neat personal item that gives you an impression of who Jack is as a person.

Jack's backpack is made of a material similar to burlap for that rugged feel.

We Exist Game Concept Part 2- Meet Jack

Jack being followed.

Jack Norwood

Description
Height/Build: 5’9 and a average build (muscular, slant)
Hair:  His hair, with a tint resembling that of an acorn, sweeps over his head neatly in a curved arc; it looks like he cares for his hair, perhaps by cutting it nicely or just using sensitive shampoo.
Weight: 183 lb
Eyes: Blue eyes that seem to change to a dark, greyish blue as if there were dark storms of an ocean being trapped within them.
Facial description: His bright blue eyes pop against his slightly olive skin tone, making his face easily noticeable and attractive.

Other description details: Jack has one of those bright, white smiles that charismatic people have to hide away their real thoughts. The only way to tell what he’s really thinking are his eyes, which show more emotion than his words sometimes.

Being at average height, he is well proportioned with seemingly strong arms to go along with his good looks.

Personality: Lean and muscular, Jack Norwood is one of the most attractive nurses in the hospital. With his thick chestnut brown hair and ocean blue eyes, doctors, nurses and patients alike can't help but be fond of him. Even his voice, kind and attentive, help patients heal quicker than any medicine prescribed. His smile, child-like at times, show off his brilliantly white teeth, only adding to his charismatic aura. Regardless of his “pretty eyes” or “white smile”, he really is just a normal guy trying to live out his life.

Jack's always had a knack for talking with people, it's one of the reasons he became a nurse. The other reason being that he wanted to help the community in any way possible. Being able to possibly save someone's life filled him with incredible motivation. Most people feel like they have a place in the world and for Jack, that was helping as many lives as he could.

As a friend, Jack’s the positive and optimistic one in the group. He’s not perky or anything, but he still finds himself to be most outgoing. However, he’s changed a bit as he’s grown older. Sure, he’s still young, but seeing death almost every day can take a toll on you. Still he tries to brighten his day with little routines throughout his shifts. Whether it be bonding with a new patient or making coffee for his co-workers. It’s the little things in life that he enjoys.

Background: Jack Norwood lived in Chicago,Illinois all his life before moving to Staten Island, New York for college, mainly for the school’s well-known nursing program. Before moving to Staten Island, Jack spent a memorable childhood in Chicago with his parents and younger brother.

In high school, Jack was the guy everyone knew. Most of his popularity from winning multiple soccer championships for his school’s soccer team. He was an incredible goalie, so good in fact that he was offered a scholarship for one of the best schools in the country. However, he declined, wanting to pursue nursing instead.

Early rendition of Jack. We decided to make him look younger in future versions. We modeled him after Chris Hemsworth as an inside joke.

We Exist Game Concept Part 1

Hi everyone, welcome to the We Exist Game Development Blog.

We Exist is a detective, mystery, thriller game with elements of horror. Follow Jack Norwood as he searches for his friend Scott who mysteriously disappeared the day after they both witness a horrific incident at their workplace. Reports of missing townsfolk being to rise around the time of Scott's disappearance. As Jack delves deeper into the mysteries of the island, he stumbles upon a series of unsettling truth about the home he once knew. Home will never feel the same again.

Here are some early development concepts for We Exist:

The early stages of the concept had a truly terrifying vision for the game where we summoned the spirit of games like Silent Hill, Lovecraftian stories, and artwork by Simon Stalenhag. We have since removed the supernatural elements but left behind the psychological horrors to create a thriller instead. Nevertheless, some of the concepts are still pretty creepy.
